Everyone has heard of MLM/Network Marketing, but surprisingly few have heard of Cooperative Marketing. Those that have heard of it tend to lump the two distinct business models together, and this is undoubtedly because there are some similarities. For instance, there is sponsoring, selling and a downline in all of them. However, this is where the similarities end. In Cooperative Marketing, the company takes on the costly, difficult and expensive task of marketing the product, not the representative. In Cooperative Marketing, the company sells the product directly to the consumer: it also handles all the shipping and customer service chores. In Cooperative Marketing, the company actually puts paying customers to the representative’s business.
